Jim, known in real estate as “The Aburndale Man on the Move,” is originally from Roseland, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Caldwell, New Jersey and of Rutgers University’s School of Business, also located in New Jersey. Before becoming a Realtor® “The Aburndale Man on the Move” retired from a successful career in food service sales management. Some of his career highlights include writing a book titled “DSR’s Survival Manual” and helping to introduce the popular Pringles Potato Chips to America in 1972 while employed at Procter & Gamble.

A switch to real estate came about after moving with his wife Trudy many times during his business career and gradually developing a passion for the industry. In 1987 he obtained his license. Amerivest Realty became his brokerage of choice in September of 2013 after receiving an email from the company and talking with the CEO Joe Ballarino. “Amerivest Realty fits very well with where I want to be in my developing real estate practice at this time and on into the future.”

Jim says his favorite aspect of his job is negotiating. He also enjoys working with his companion Teddy, “The Real Estate Dog.”  Other than Teddy, Jim’s family consists of his wife Trudy (it will be their 48th anniversary on October 2nd, 2013!) and their two adult children and their families. Their son Greg works for Ashley Furniture and his three children with his wife Kim. Their daughter Kelly has been a Deputy Sheriff in Polk County for about 20 years and has two sons with her husband Johnnie.

Jim participates in charitable organizations such as FEAST Food Pantry in Palm Harbor, Fla. in which he is the president and Somebody Cares Tampa Bay, where he is the project coordinator.  Jim is an avid reader, he works with children in church programs to teach them core Christian values, and he is a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rays, Buccaneers and Lightning, his alma mater’s football team, and the University of South Florida’s football team.
