Bob Norwood, Realtor®

Robert, who goes by Bob, is originally from Northwest Indiana. He lived in the cities of Hammond, Griffith and Indianapolis. While living in Indianapolis for 20 years he owned several vacation homes in the Bonita Springs and Naples area. In 1995 he decided to permanently move to Southwest Florida. Since 2004 he has happily resided in the Vasari community, which is conveniently located near the beautiful beaches, a variety of restaurants, great shopping, and the Southwest Florida International Airport.

Bob attended Olivet Nazarene College, which is now a university. He received a degree in business administration. After graduation he worked as a life insurance agent, but soon discovered that he was more interested in the financial estate planning and property insurance for the large family owned farms in Northwest Indiana. Many were having estate problems with converting their land into large subdivisions and shopping centers. While working with them he became intrigued with real estate and began to learn about property ownership in his spare time. His friends then began to encourage him to become involved with selling real estate, so in 1979 Bob obtained his license.

“Real estate turned from a really fun hobby to a really terrific career.”

He joined the largest real estate company in Indiana known as F.C. Tucker. He worked with them for 16 years and during that time was recognized by the Dozen, one of the nation’s oldest real estate think tanks, as being among the top 1% of Realtors in the United States for production and personal income. Also, since 1984 he has been a life member of the Tucker President’s Club. Bob still works with many of his early clientele and Tucker agents on properties in the Southwest Florida area.

It was in 1983 that he obtained his Florida sales license, and in 1991 obtained his Florida broker’s license. Five years later, Bob and one of his fellow Tucker associates decided to open a VIP Realty branch office in Naples. After two years of working as a managing partner Bob realized that his true ambition was selling real estate and not managing agents so he returned to just selling and stayed with VIP for ten more years. He realized though that he wanted more freedom to direct his own business and more technological support. He saw that with Amerivest Realty, so came on board in 2007.

On a personal note Bob is a big dog lover. He is devoted to the charitable organization known as Best Friends Animal Society and has a rescue dog named Cass, after Mama Cass of The Mamas and The Papas, who has been with him since 2007. Prior to Cass, he had rescued an abandoned dog he found while showing condominiums in Bonita and named her Spice, after the Spice Girls. They were together for about seven years.
